WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -– Purdue students, faculty and staff are joining four local agencies in hopes of making a brighter Christmas for children in Greater Lafayette.

The Boiler Volunteer Network’s (BVN) Season of Sharing campaign provided gifts to nearly 300 children last year, and the need is greater this holiday season, says Harry Brown, assistant dean of students and BVN director.

Brown urges people to visit Stewart Center, Room G-4, to select an ornament listing a child’s name, age and gift suggestion. The unwrapped gifts should then be returned to the BVN by Dec. 17.

Brown says the gifts will support holiday distributions by the Bauer Family Resource Center, YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, Salvation Army and American Red Cross.

“Purdue is a very generous community,” Brown says. “It doesn’t take much. A $10 gift can make a child a little happier during the holidays.”
